Do You Know Who You Truly Are?

A Note from Neale...

My dear friends,

Last week in this space I began a series of entries here by noting that every event and circumstance on Earth is jointly produced, placed into the collective reality as a collaborative creation of The Collective Itself.  And the tragedy is that The Collective does not know this—or, worse yet, does know this, and merely acts as if it does not.  The result of this is that most people wind up turning to God at the wrong time….usually after, rather than before, events have taken place or circumstances have been created.

This is because most people do not know who they truly are, nor do they have an accurate understanding of what their relationship with God is.

Thus, people think that most of them are at the effect of events and conditions such as conflict and war, financial collapse, political upheaval, violence and killing.  They believe that it is the tiny few who are in power who are creating them, and the masses are left to only endure them. And when it comes to so-called Acts of Nature, even the powerful few are thought to be at the effect of life.

Whether it’s an act of Man or of Nature, our species is very clear: It’s not our fault. We had nothing to do with it.

No human behavior has anything to do with global warming (which half the planet continues to deny is even occurring), earthquakes, hurricanes and tornadoes, raging wildfires, torrential rains, or tsunamis—or the increase in disease among the Earth’s people, such as the growing cancer rate, or the increase in early heart attacks, stroke, and Alzheimer’s.

No human behavior has anything to do with the dying off of the bees (which, if it continues, is going to have a disastrous effect on pollination worldwide, and then on global food crops), or the increasing toxicity of our drinking water, or the fact that tests show that hamburgers from fast food chains rarely contain more than 15% real meat (and in some tests have been shown to contain only 2% actual meat), or the fact that more than 650 children die every hour on this planet because of starvation.

When an entire culture refuses to believe that it has anything to do with what is occurring, it cannot do anything about what is occurring.

This, in 25 words, is a summation of the present reality on Planet Earth.

As I have noted in this space before, much of this has to do with our understanding of the nature of God itself. Is there even a being called “God”? What is the true nature of The Divine — and what does it want, need, require? What does it actually do in our lives? How does Divinity interact with Humanity? What is the nature of this relationship? Does it even exist?

These questions and more will be explored here as we continue with this multi-part series, titled FOCUS: The Nature of God and Life/an exploration of critical importance in our time, in the weeks ahead. This Fall I will bring this discussion right into your home via telephone and video links. Look for that from CWGConnect. In the meantime, join us here for the online print-media element of this exploration.

With love and hugs,

Letters to Neale: What is a 'Life Review'?

Dear Neale,

Thank you so much for "Home With God"!! Finally my experiences with death and dying have been validated. I have been a nurse for 30 years and have worked with the dying for many of those years. Being in the presence of this holy event over and over again with people, I have witnessed such remarkable things.

I have so many stories I could tell, but don't share because people would think I am making it up. My upbringing was in a home with atheist parents. Speaking about God or religion was punished. I graduated from nursing school and my first assignment was the Oncology floor. Patients were there either for treatment or to die. I had no experience with death and dying, nor any spiritual foundation at that time. It was such a gift to be there!

Slowly, I began to discover the miracle of death. It brought me to God and my present spiritual beliefs. I have no fear of death and I am excited about seeing all those beloved on the other side.

My question pertains to the steps immediately after death. The first, as I understand it, is to become aware of leaving the body and realizing that life has gone on. The second is to experience whatever it is that we believe about what happens after death.

In my readings about near death experiences, people have stated they experienced a life review right after death. All events of their life passed before them, like a movie, and they re-experienced them from the perspective of others. Therefore, if our behavior hurt another, we would feel the hurt of the other; and likewise, if we helped another, we would feel their gratitude. In your conversations, was a life review discussed? Is this something that happens? Or only to those that think it will?

Neale Responds

Dear Nikki,

HOME WITH GOD describes essentially the very same experience that you have described here. Please read Chapter 30. There you will find the following...

Imagine now a large room where the portions of the mural that you looked at when you were coming down the Corridor of Time are mounted on the walls.
The entire mural is not there, only the parts of the mural, only the sections of the overall painting, upon which you focused as you moved through the Corridor.
These images now hang on the walls like an art exhibit, and you walk through this “art gallery” slowly, examining the pictures one by one.
As you explore these paintings deeply you experience everything that is happening in the painting. Not just what is happening with you,
but what is happening with everyone else in the painting.
These images represent each of the moments of your life, and now, examining them, you have for the first time
a complete picture of all that is going on in every moment.
This is often not what you thought was going on,
and it is always more than you imagined.

and from Chap 31... see all that is in the "art gallery," all the experiences of your life, and you can look at them objectively, as if you were flipping through a picture book, or watching a movie or studying a great work of art
—which each experience is.
You study each moment until you feel that you understand it.
Then you move on to the next image, the next moment, the next “painting”.
In this way you move through and around the entire gallery;
you make sure that you have seen the complete collection.
Every moment is important to you,
because you realize as you examine the individual moments of your life
that those moments are what you used to create your experience of Self—and soon you are going to decide how you wish to recreate your Self anew.

Okay, hold it one minute. I’m confused about one thing. I know this is all a metaphor, and not really “how it is”—

—describing “how it is” without using metaphor
would make it virtually impossible for you to comprehend.

I understand. But even knowing this is a metaphor, I have to “pick it apart” a little. There is one thing I am not clear about. I thought I “regained” my identity when I emerged from The Essence, when my “meeting with God” was over. Otherwise, how would I know “who I am”?

You do.

Then how is it that I can go through this “life review”—take a look at all these pictures of moments from my life just lived—and not feel anything? I’ve done some pretty ugly things, I’m sorry to say. And a few nice things, too. How is it, if I have regained the identity that I shed in the early stages of death, that I don’t have any feelings of sadness or happiness or suffering over that?

When your “meeting with God” is over
you regain your awareness of the limited identity
that you held in your last lifetime, true,
but you do not move back into that identity.
Rather, you experience your Self as much larger than that,
much more unlimited.

In Chapter 31 I go on to use an analogy to describe how it is possible for the soul to undergo such a "life review" without feeling any pain or discomfort while we watch the "scenes" of our life, but knowing in fullness exactly the experience that others had as a result of our choice, words, and actions.

Hope this clarifies things for you, Nikki. Thanks for writing.

Blessed be....

From the Director's chair

It is gratitude time for me this week. I have much to be thankful for, so I thought I would make a list. I hope you do as well. You know that if you’re ever feeling out of sorts, making a gratitude list can be incredibly helpful. If you are anything like me, you won’t be half way through before you’re feeling great. Hey, why not try it with me right now? There is nothing like gratitude.

Here it goes.

First, I wish to say thanks for showing up and joining our Facebook page last week.

I made a request for help and boy did I get it. We had a significant increase in the number of likes this week, as well as, the sharing of our upcoming Path to Peace retreat video. Thank You for joining with us and saving the Foundation money, which we can use for far more productive things like serving you. You’re helping get the word out about our programs, they allow us to do our work in helping people recreate their lives anew, in the next grandest version of the greatest vision ever they held of who they are.

When it comes to our Path to Peace retreat, this can be a huge life transformation to someone. Recovery from Dis-ease is no small task but with help, and the commitment to use the practical tools provided, lives change forever for the better. Your help with this is so appreciated. Thanks for partnering in positive life change.

So, I am grateful for YOU!

Next, I would like to express my gratitude and say thank you to our volunteer Janine Cantin. She has been heading up our “Books for Friends” and Prisoner Outreach Program for years now. Every week, Janine spends many hours facilitating this program. She also writes the newsletter “Freedom Inside”, reaching out to those that feel they are lost souls. To her they are not, she touches the lives of thousands of human beings who, like people everywhere, may be suffering from wrong and small thinking. Janine is providing another way, another path to peace using the practical messages found within CwG . Whether in prison or not, all beings who suffer deserve to find a path to peace. Reaching out to help heal the hearts and minds of those who suffer is what we are all about. Janine embodies this and her commitment is steadfast. It is inspiring to be around her.

Janine asks for nothing more than the opportunity to serve and the funds to keep the “Books for Friends” program up and running. Every dollar that comes through the door for this program goes entirely to accomplish her mission. Personally, I would love to see us expanding our prison program, for I know that all souls can reawaken as they tap into their truth that would set them free. As Nelson Mandela reflected on his time in prison – “You can imprison my body, but not my mind or my soul”. His life changed millions of lives for the better. Who knows how many others are waiting for that spark of possibility. Our prisoner program has the ability to help create a brighter future for everyone who participates, including those in positions of power. Everyone benefits. Please consider adding our Books for Friends program to your contribution giving this year.

So I am grateful to Janine Cantin!

Finally, I am excited that we have our first few signups for our CwG College Costa Rica Adventure.

I am reading the advance copy of “What God Said” which will be the text for this retreat. Taking the most important messages from the Conversations with God material and their practical application will be the focus for the retreat and beyond. As you know, CwG is rich in practical information and when applied, lives change. I am experiencing many of the same feelings I had when I first read CwG and I am very much looking forward to undertaking this deep study program. Transformation awaits. Are you ready to recreate yourself anew in the next grandest version of the greatest vision ever you held of who you are? Perhaps this adventure is for you!

So, I am grateful for CwG and I am very much looking forward to sharing Costa Rica with you!

I can see that my gratitude list could go on and on today. How did you do?

Until next time, let gratitude guide your week!

Prison Outreach Program!

Dear Friend of CwG:

The Prison Outreach Program of the CwG Foundation is working full out.

So far in 2013,

  • we have sent over 520 books to prisoners free of charge.

  • At least 60 CwG study groups were started and facilitated by prisoners. Our program provides the books the participants need as well as guidelines for conducting the study group.

  • Close to 900 prisoners are now receiving our newsletter, Freedom Inside, which is written for prisoners and which often includes articles written by prisoners. This newsletter started in 2001 with less than 50 prisoners, it is growing every month.

The light that shines from the CwG material can make a tremendous difference for these prisoners.

An example:

“Dear Neale: Thank you very much for sending me Book One of Conversations with God. I’ve been locked-up for 33 years straight and have read many books, but never one as inspiring as Book One. I’ve read it at least five times, and as a result it has changed my whole way of thinking. All the bitterness has left my heart and I wake up in the morning thanking my/ our Creator and feeling good about everything.

I’m ready for Book Two, if you would be so kind as to send it to me. I don’t have any money to send you, but someday I will, and you can be sure that I will express my appreciation.

Please send me BOOK TWO>

Yours truly,

EE Coalinga, CA”
